We organically use the 10% rule for aerial plant parts, only harvesting 10% off of any given plant to honor its’ life and other creatures that may benefit from it’s presence, 10% of any given species within the area if an entire plant must be harvested for use and a “Rule of Thirds” when harvesting from roots of perennial plants, that is, 1/3 of the root system every 3 years.
